Captain Marvel Passes Another MCU Movie at Domestic Box Office

As Captain Marvel enters the final stages of its theatrical run, it has now passed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at the domestic box office. Captain Marvel has earned over $394 million at the domestic box office. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 earned $389 million at the box office in 2017. This means Captain Marvel is now the 7th highest-grossing MCU film ever, just below Captain America: Civil War at $408 million.

‘The Gifted’ Canceled By Fox After 2 Seasons; Marvel Drama Could Potentially Find New Home At Disney
Fox has opted not to renew its sophomore drama series The Gifted for a third season. The family adventure series, set in Marvel’s X-Men universe, comes from 20th Century Fox TV, which now is part of Disney. Because Fox no longer has ownership in the series, linear ratings play a bigger role in the broadcast network’s renewal decisions, and, the drama was a soft performer in linear ratings for Fox in its second season, averaging about half of Season 1. There is a chance for The Gifted to find a new home within the Disney family. The show is produced by Marvel Television, which currently has series on Disney-owned Freeform and Disney-controlled Hulu.
