MCU’s First Transgender Actor Zoe Terakes Talks Making History at Marvel

During an exclusive interview with Collider’s own Perri Nemiroff in Park City during Sundance, Ironheart series star Zoe Terakes discussed what it means to be the first trans actor in the MCU.

Last year, Terakes was announced as part of Ironheart playing a key character in the show. Per usual, Marvel Studios is handling the show with maximum secrecy, but during our interview, Terakes was excited to share what being part of the Marvel family means to them. Here's what they said:

“I think as trans people, growing up I didn’t get to see myself anywhere, so I didn’t really know that I existed. And especially not in a superhero show or movie. And so I think I just feel deeply grateful and moved that little trans kids and trans teens have something to look at and to know they exist and to know that they can have superpowers, and that that’s where we belong. We don’t just belong in trauma stories on the fringes dying in things, you know? We belong there with the big guys. So yeah, it meant a lot to me.”

Disney+ has revealed exactly where Black Panther: Wakanda Forever lands on the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline.

Per Reddit, the streaming service has placed Wakanda Forever after Moon Knight and before She-Hulk: Attorney at Law in its Marvel Studios section called, "Marvel Cinematic Universe in Timeline Order." With Moon Knight taking place after Hawkeye, which took place around Christmas 2024, and She-Hulk being set during the summer of 2025, this means that the latest MCU movie is set in Spring 2025. Wakanda Forever actually provides clues to this Spring 2025 setting in the film, with the clothing and foliage seeming to indicate Spring as well as Riri Williams' differential equations class only being taught at MIT during the Spring semester.

Annie Wersching, Actress in ‘Bosch,’ ‘24,’ ‘Runaways,’ Dies at 45

Annie Wersching, an actress known for her roles in TV dramas Bosch and 24, as well as her portrayal of Leslie Dean, the mother of alien superhero Karolina on Marvel’s Runaways, has died. She was 45.

Wersching died from cancer on Sunday morning in Los Angeles, a rep for the actress told The Hollywood Reporter. In a statement, her husband Stephen Full remembered his wife and the mother of their three children.

Scarlet Witch Brings an MCU Sidekick Into the Marvel Universe - And She Has a Secret

Marvel's most hexing Avenger is bringing along a new assistant on her journey of altruism, and it's a face that MCU fans will find familiar. In Scarlet Witch #1 (by Steve Orlando, Sara Pichelli, Elisabetta D'amico, Matthew Wilson, and VC's Cory Petit), the 616 universe is introduced to a specific character that, up until now, has only ever been seen onscreen as part of the cinematic version of Marvel universe. The character in question is none other than Darcy Lewis.

Darcy's role in Wanda's new series remains a mystery. However, it is quickly established that, unlike her MCU counterpart, this Darcy has some dark secrets that she is running from. Whether Wanda can help her in this regard seems like it is being set up to be one of the central plot points of the series.
